Website design for Urban Weds Country

I just completed a multi-phase website design project for Melissa Kearby of Urban Weds Country. Melissa initially contacted me last year to design a blog for her on the Squarespace platform. We worked on that and she maintained her online shop on another platform for a period of time, but ultimately decided to go with one clean site on Squarespace, which has great eCommerce capabilities. I had also worked with her husband on the branding and website for his company, Black River Aerospace.

Urban Weds Country is a lifestyle management company based in Oklahoma City, OK – Melissa offers many useful services, perfect for busy professionals trying to juggle life and work. In addition to that, she offers design and organization services along with a fantastic online boutique of home goods. You can learn more about her services and check out the website design at

We used one of Squarespace's newer templates for the design, with a scrolling page, clean text, and great photographs. I love the way this site came out, and I'm excited to begin work on some print materials for Melissa's business next.

Branding and eBook Design for Exploring Healthy Foods

Before the holidays I worked on a great project - and this one is perfect for all of us who are trying to eat healthy after too much indulgence in November and December!

Brittney is a nutrition expert and blogger whose approach to clean, healthy eating is realistic and creative. She blogs at Exploring Healthy Foods and contacted me to help with her branding and the design of her new eBook.

First we established a logo and brand that works with her clean, simple approach to food and health - with a fun splash of watercolor for good measure. The simple charcoal and white color scheme with bright pops of color work perfectly for her brand:

Once we had the logo and brand established, I got started on the layout for her eBook. This Nutrition Basics Resource Guide takes the guesswork out of choosing healthy foods and looking and feeling great - I really like Brittney's simple and practical advice, tips, and recipes - along with lots of lovely photography. This book is a bargain and comes with a free printable grocery list - perfect for a new year shopping trip to get you set up for success in living a healthy lifestyle! I also love that she has options for those of you who are vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, and dairy free - there's something for everyone. Be sure to head over to her blog to check it out!

Squarespace Website Design for Single Thread Boutique Blog

Alisha Sims, whose Fearlessly Feminine website I designed earlier in the year, referred her friend Sara to me for a blog redesign. Sara owns a fabulous store, Single Thread Boutique, with two physical locations in Indiana and an online shop as well. Sara was a pleasure to work with. She already had great content to move over to the Squarespace platform and a clear vision of what she had in mind. We used the pretty pale green from her logo and kept the colors soft so that the beautiful photographs she has really pop. Her blog is so much fun to read, with categories like "Fashion Friday" and "How to Wear It" – lots of great tips and inspiration for fashion. Be sure to visit to see it!

New Squarespace website design for Seventh & Stone

Barbara Stellmach, the owner of the store Seventh & Stone, contacted me about working on her website design. A fellow Etsy seller, Barb creates beautiful and unique handmade jewelry – she incorporates Lake Superior stones into many of the designs, which are inspired by her gorgeous surroundings on the north shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota. Along with her own designs, Barb carries a carefully curated selection of handmade goods, crafted by artisans – many of them from her area.

She wanted a website that was clean and well-organized, showcasing the products with links to the individual artists – such a great way to convey the wide array of talent that goes into creating these items. Our collaboration resulted in a lovely, functional site design and its corresponding mobile version. Barb has been a pleasure to work with, and I'm so excited about the final product! You must click over and check it out (and there's a link to her Etsy shop in the navigation!) - and if you're lucky enough to live nearby, stop in and see her at Seventh and Stone!

Logo, branding and website design for Black River Aerospace

logo and branding design for black river aerospace - gold and charcoal color palette

Another fun recent project has been the branding and website I created for Black River Aerospace, a consulting company based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I enjoyed working with JD, the owner, on a clean, masculine design that was a good fit for this business. We incorporated aviation-related elements and a gold and charcoal gray color palette.

The website needed to include a lot of information but be easy to navigate and understand – we accomplished that with a clean, clear and mobile-friendly site, optimized so that potential clients will be able to locate them easily when searching online. The site will be live soon at

Workbook design for {eBook graphic design}

Jazmine Leath, a life coach, was working on a relaunch of her website and contacted me for a design project.

Jazmine wanted a workbook for her readers to help guide them through some of her basic steps to creating success – she gives advice and a system for thinking through your priorities and finding a path that will lead to fulfillment.

I designed a cover with a soft watercolor background and coordinated that theme with the layout of the internal pages. The result was a design that worked with Jazmine's branding and is clear and organized for her readers. Check out Jazmine's website and her freebies page for the workbook!

Logo and Branding for MC Weddings & Events {logo design / branding / graphic design}

I just completed a project for Meagan Crain, a Tucson-based wedding and event planner. She wanted to update her existing logo, incorporating her initials in her own handwriting with a clean, simple font for the tagline and an elegant, hand-drawn, but not-too-feminine border. We worked together to come up with a design and color scheme that will work for her brand. Be sure to check out her website at - she has planned gorgeous events at some of the most beautiful venues in Tucson!

Restaurant Website Design

One of the projects I completed within the last few months was the website design for The Canyon's Crown, a British pub and restaurant here in Tucson. They needed a clean, well-functioning site where they could showcase a few photos of the restaurant, share their menu, and establish links to their social media sites and email newsletter list - I also made sure that the mobile version of their site was intuitive and easy to use, since so many of their website views would likely be occurring on mobile devices. Visit their site here. I think we came up with a design that accomplished what they wanted - you definitely get a feel for its cozy, fun atmosphere and their menu of pub favorites.

Hitched in a Hurry {book design for print and ebook platforms}

I'm very excited to share my latest book design project. I'm working with writer Karley Kiker on the design and layout of a fun and fabulous guide for wedding planning. From the author:

Based on the column that originally appeared on D Weddings’ Bridal Buzz blog, Hitched in a Hurry: The ultimate how-to for a speedy “I do” is a guide for brides planning weddings in six months or fewer. Packed with tips, charts, and organizational tools tailored to fit tighter timelines, Hitched in a Hurry also contains interviews with real-life couples that successfully turned short engagements into lifelong love affairs.

We've completed the cover design - inspired by a wedding invitation "look" and a color scheme from the author's own beautiful wedding - and I'm currently working on the inside content. Be sure to check out her website for the book and stay tuned as I complete this project.
